We’re excited to announce that Frontline Wildfire Defense, in collaboration with Woodside Homes, won the award for Most Innovative Housing Concepts in Multi-Family Construction Technology at this year’s PCBC conference.
The winning project, Wayfare Station in Santa Clarita, CA, marks a bold step forward in wildfire-resilient development, integrating Frontline’s defense technology directly into the design and construction of a multi-family community.
This award reflects a critical truth: wildfire is a solvable challenge. It’s not just recognition of innovation. It signals a larger shift in how we design and build for the future. For decades, wildfire was seen as an unpredictable risk and something to react to, not plan for. But that’s no longer the case. Thanks to science, technology, and visionary partners like Woodside, we’re now creating the first communities purpose-built to withstand wildfire.
As these communities take shape, wildfire resilience is rapidly becoming a core expectation for builders, developers, insurers, and homeowners alike. This shift is already influencing insurance-backed construction standards, setting a new benchmark for protecting homes, families, and entire neighborhoods. This is especially important because wildfire defense at the community scale creates a protective network far stronger than isolated home-by-home efforts, multiplying safety and resilience across entire neighborhoods.
For 56 years, the Gold Nugget Awards have recognized leadership in design and construction. We’re honored our approach stood out among exceptional submissions. We’re proud to help shape a future where wildfire-ready communities become the standard, not the exception.
This recognition powerfully validates our shared commitment to building safer, smarter, and more resilient communities. Thank you to Woodside for leading the way and to everyone who makes this progress possible.
